Page and Brin got together and introduced a “web crawler” concept named BackRub. When BackRub came, people thought that it came to hold the backlinks to the internet. Google rented goats in the past. There were 200 goats, a shepherd, and a Border Coolie dog. And, it rent the goats from a company called California Grazing. It helped to cut down the ample amount of weeds and brushes in Google headquarters.
The firm started giving free e-mail accounts to beta users in 2004. And after a long survey, in 2007, Gmail began its services to the public. It was almost better than all the other e-mail services. So, to make it big, they decided to give free 1 Gigabyte of storage on the Google network with every Gmail account. It also facilitates everyone to find the e-mails instantly that too, without storing them and sorting them out. The Gmail search is as fast as a Google search. Therefore, the USP of Gmail account is, it offers an independent e-mail address regardless of any particular Internet Service Provider. It provided an unprecedented one gigabyte of free e-mail space. At present, Google has expanded the storage given to the public.
It is one of the earliest companies which has a dog-friendly nature. This friendliness came from a dog called Yoshika, and it is of Leonberger breed.
The company took the initiative to make a separate Google Image Search Engine in 2001.
The company provides Mountain View, the California town, with free Wi-Fi. And, it is a city-wide free Wi-Fi facility. It encouraged people to use the internet efficiently.
Google took it to maintain a clear idea between search results and ads. The company even wanted to keep the home page of Google free from ads. For maintaining a high-quality content of user-friendly experience, Google even got against any pop-ups or graphics in the usage. Now, ads are brief, looks interesting, with just one headline, a link, and a brief description. Advertisers can sign up online itself. Instead of just displaying one ad from the vendor who is willing to pay the most, Google renewed its ads based on one formula, which took it into account. It depends on how much someone offers to pay and how often computer users clicked on an ad. Google trusted users to rank all the ads. It is Consumer pull rather than business push.
Google’s stated goal is to help millions of people gain access to information that will lead to healthier and smarter living through the prevention and cure of a wide range of problems in every aspect. Today Google is one of the first solutions to every problem.
